Biographical Sketch

Mary Jo Zukoski is a Ph.D. student in the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. She expects to complete her Ph.D. degree in Operations Research in 2007. Her research focuses on quality of service issues for mobile ad hoc networks. She is investigating the treatment of network resources as market commodities and then adapting order of service in response.

Mary Jo received her M.S. in Mathematics degree from Virginia Tech in May 1990 and her B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Wilkes College in May 1988.

Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., Mary Jo worked as a systems engineer for The MITRE Corporation, a Department of Defense FFRDC. Most of her work dealt with routing protocols in military tactical or space-based networks. Her hobbies include digital photography, web development, and running and hiking when her knees are up to it.
