Biographical Sketch

Juan E. Suris is a Ph.D. student in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. He expects to complete his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering in May 2007. His research focuses on cognitive networks and their impact on mobile ad-hoc networks. His advisor is Dr. Luiz DaSilva.

Juan received his M.S. in Computer Engineering degree from Northwestern University (NU) in July 1998 and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Puerto Rico in May 1996. Juan received the Bradley Fellowship at Virginia Tech, the Walter P. Murphy Fellowship and the NSF Minority Graduate Research Fellowship at NU, and was a member of Tau Beta Pi honorary society. He is a student member of the IEEE.

He has held jobs at Motorola and Prudential Financial. Juan's hobbies include bowling, rock climbing and web programming.
