Biographical Sketch
Glenn Fink completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at
Virginia Tech in August 2006. His Ph.D. research focused on applying information visualization and
human-computer interface principles to computer and network security
monitoring applications. His advisor is Dr. Chris North. Glenn has joined Pacific Northwest National
Laboratories (PNNL).
Glenn received his M.S. in Computer Science degree from Virginia Tech in May
1995 and his B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Hampden-Sydney College
(HSC) in May 1988. He is also an honor graduate of the U.S. Army's Signal
Officer Basic Course at Fort Gordon, Georgia, having received his certificate
in May of 1989.
Glenn's first career was at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Virginia,
where he held a variety of positions as a civilian computer scientist during
his fifteen year tenure. Simultaneously, Glenn was an Army Reserve Signal
officer for 11.5 years before resigning his commission.
Glenn's primary interests are his family (a wife and two children), and being a
disciple of Jesus.
